Birmingham Audubon‘s thirteenth Gosse Nature Walk takes us to Red Mountain Park, Birmingham’s largest urban green space and a must-visit site for outdoors explorers of all stripes. Special guest Rachel Ahrnsen, Red Mountain’s Natural Resources Specialist, joins us to provide an insider’s look at life on the mountain, and to help us visualize one of the South’s great post-industrial ecological recoveries.

The details: Meet up is at noon in the Red Mountain parking lot, located at the intersection of Frankfurt Drive and Lyon Lane (2011 Frankfurt Drive, Birmingham). As always, remember to bring plenty of water and snacks, insect repellent, rain gear, sunblock, and seasonally appropriate attire.

(Questions about accessibility? Email us for more information about how we can meet your needs. Also note: Red Mountain Park has gone to great efforts to make their park accessible to people with disabilities, making this Gosse Nature Walk a good fit for people using wheelchairs.)
